Recently completed in 2023 a preliminary study for proposed floating PV solar farm on Saguling Lake reservoir. Study included geodetic control network, hydrographic and geophysical survey (bathymetry, sub bottom profiling, current monitoring, drop core sampling), geotechnical investigation with boreholes onshore and over water from pontoon, resistivity testing and dynamic cone penetration testing, laboratory testing and reporting including geohazard and geotechnical assessment with recommendations for preliminary design for EPC tender purposes.

Environmental conditions were determined (wind, wave and local climate). Various mooring line and anchor options were reviewed for the proposed floating PV solar panel units. Site selection study to find best location for switchyard and transmission line.
